Poker 101

Objective of Poker

Win chips by:

• Having the best hand at showdown
• Getting all other players to fold

No-Limit Texas Hold’em — Basic Rules

Each player receives:

• 2 Hole cards

Five community cards are dealt:

• Flop – 3 cards
• Turn – 1 card
• River – 1 card

Players make the best 5-card hand using any combination of:

• Their 2 cards
• The 5 community cards

Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) — Basic Rules

Each player receives:

• 4 Hole cards instead of 2

Five community cards are dealt:

• Flop – 3 cards
• Turn – 1 card
• River – 1 card

Players MUST:

• Use exactly 2 hole cards
• Use exactly 3 community cards

Players may only bet up to the size of the pot

Table Etiquette

Act in turn
Don’t discuss hands in progress
Keep chips visible
Use clear verbal actions
One player to a hand
Don’t splash the pot
Be respectful to dealers and players
